Law to Grace

For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. Romans 6:14

God’s law was given to tell that everyone is guilty before God because of sin. Law was mainly given for Jewish people, for others God gave intuitive knowledge that tells that they are sinners and guilty before God. Law will never help us by empowering to overcome sin rather it will tell that we are condemned by our own effort in overcoming sin, we constantly failed by trying to keep law with own effort. So what is the purpose of law? the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Galatians 3:24 But, people are constantly trying to keep the law on their own effort to become righteous and justified.

When a person understands and accepts that they will never be able to overcome sin and never be able to meet God’s standards, that is the first step to salvation. Surely that requires honesty and humbleness to accept the condition before God that sin is mastering over their life and they need deliverance. As we put our faith in Lord Jesus, we are justified and made righteous through Him. He is our deliverer!

He saved us from sins through His grace, save means not just forgiveness of sin alone but His grace empowers us to overcome sin. We are made righteous and called to be an overcomer by walking in Spirit by depending on Jesus. Many think grace means forgiveness but word of God says, For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, Titus 2:11,12 When a person walk in the Spirit then that person will not gratify the desires of the flesh. Yes, when we are under grace sin shall not rule over us. Abide in Him and grow in His grace!
