Pray to do His will

Jesus said, “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9, 10

Our Lord Jesus taught us how to pray to our loving Heavenly Father! Jesus said that He came down to earth to do Father’s will and not His own will, though He know that Father sent Him to us with a unique purpose and plan to shed His blood and die on the cross to demonstrate Father’s love for you and me, He came down as a man like you and me, surely He had the same challenges, temptations and trials. But, He prayed with loud cries and His prayers was heard by Father. He fulfilled the law, fulfilled the will of the Father everyday and He said follow me and learn from me.

Jesus encouraged His disciples to pray so that they will not fall into temptation, He wants us to do the Father’s will as like how He finished everything for the glory of the Father. He is telling us to watch and pray and let God’s name be glorified through our lives. God has unique plan and purpose for each and everyone of our lives, let us pray to know His will everyday and ask Father God for His grace to follow His will, finally let us give all glory to God by fulfilling His will as His divine power has given us everything that we need for life and godliness.

Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work. John 4:34 Its true in our life too, let us stop doing our own will and die for our self will so that we can do our Father’s will, if our Lord Jesus prayed when He was on this earth and said let not my will but let your will be done, then surely we need to pray as we are called to live like how Jesus lived. He is the way, life and truth! Finally, Jesus said, Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. It is impossible with our own strength and ability to do Father’s will, He never asked us to do on our own, let us pray and depend on Him. He loves us so much and He is our strength! Amen! We fall short of His glory, but He bridged the gap and raises those who believe in Him for His glory!
