Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” Matthew 26:41
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! God has given us new spirit as we are born again and that is just like Jesus. Because it is the Spirit of Christ, in this world we are like Him. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. Romans 8:9 So, our new born-again spirit is always willing to do God’s will. But, the body is weak.
The body that Jesus is referring is not only physical bodies, but our soul too. God called us to live a victorious and overcoming life as He has given treasures in our earthen vessels as the scripture says, we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 2 Corinthians 4:7
But, as we renew our mind and keep God’s Word we can allow this divine power of God to flow through our physical body where we can see His manifestation for His glory! For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 1 Timothy 4:8 So, our soul and body have to exercise godliness, prayer is one important way to exercise godliness, always watch and pray.
