Why many are deceived

Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. 1 John 4:1

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! God’s Word warns us to beware of false prophets and false teachers. In Acts of the Apostles, we can see that Paul met the Ephesian elders and he told them that, “I know that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock. Even some men from your own group will rise up and distort the truth in order to draw a following. Watch out! Remember the three years I was with you-my constant watch and care over you night and day, and my many tears for you. Acts 20:29-31

We can see that there were false teachers 2000 years back and so many false teachers are there today as well. The main intention of these false teachers is twisting the truth to draw the crowd and make the people to follow them instead of directing them towards God. Another main reason is to gain money and deceive people by using God’s name. People are perishing because of the lack of knowledge of God’s Word as many believers are lazy to study/meditate God’s Word to get the revelation from God and to know whether what the preacher has preached is from Word or not.

Every time when you listen to any sermon, always go back to God’s Word and verify whether its the truth according to God’s Word. Today, so many people are blindly following some false teacher without even knowing that they are not preaching from God’s Word and believe everything they listen and are deceived. Surely God has given many good teachers even in this present evil age to edify us, also God has given us the anointing that teaches us everything about truth. Also, by the grace of God, the leaders/elders should not let any false teachers or false prophets to deceive their church members.
