Jesus Said Be Clean

Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.

In Matthew 8, a man with leprosy asked Jesus, if you are willing, you can make me clean. Jesus said, I’m willing and the man was cleared of leprosy. Today, sin is much worse than leprosy, how many of us are asking God to cleanse us by His blood, not covered but cleansed by blood. Its His will to cleanse us from all unrighteousness so that we can start having victory over sin by His grace and grace alone!!!

In the old covenant, the sins were not cleansed but covered by the blood. In the new covenant, our sins are not covered as we sing in many songs with old covenant lyrics which says we are covered by the blood, the truth is our sins are cleansed by the blood of the lamb. 1 John 1:9 says, if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

God cleansed that man of his leprosy so that he can live free from that terrible sickness. Also, that man would never want to get the leprosy again. Likewise, God cleansed us from sin which is terrible than sickness so that we will live and abide in Him, we are under grace and sin shall not rule over us. If a person continues to live in sickness he may die physically but if He believes in Jesus surely His soul will live eternally and there is great hope and life.

But, if a person is free from all sickness but continue to live in sin then that person may live longer here on earth but after that there is no hope and end up in eternal hell. Today, many believers who do not know this truth always prays to be healed from any sickness but never ask God to deliver them from sin which is critical than any sickness. We cannot save ourselves from sin, only Jesus can deliver us from sin, let us always abide in His love. As we know the truth the truth will set us free. Amen!
