I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:18
Praise God! God has given us the privilege to call Him Abba, Father. He is our loving Father who is with us always. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Galatians 4:6 God has given us the spirit of Lord Jesus Christ, the spirit by which we can approach Him as His children. We are not our own but we are bought with a great price, the blood of Jesus Christ. God sent His one and only Son Jesus Christ in order to save us from sin and bondage, what a loving God we serve!! He accepts us as we are and molds us according to His will. We were once sinners but now we are the sons and daughters of the Lord Almighty. We love Him because He first loved us, He is our daddy, papa, dada.
In the parable of the lost son we can see about the younger son who got his share of his father’s estate and set off for a distant country. He spent all his money because of his reckless living, there was a severe famine in that whole country and he began to starve. He persuaded a local citizen to hire him, and the man sent him to his fields to feed the pigs. He did not have anything to eat, he was so hungry that he would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating. Finally he came to his senses and thought about his father’s house where even the hired servants had food enough to spare but here he was starving to death. So he decided to go back to his father’s house and request his father to accept him as his hired servant.
The father of this younger son was waiting for his son to return, he was expecting his son’s arrival. When he saw his son coming, he was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. The son reconciled with his father and his father said the servants to bring the best robe and to put it on him, to put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet, to bring the fattened calf and kill it. The feast and celebration began!! Our loving Heavenly Father is a Father of compassion, Father of mercies and He is our Everlasting Father. He is gracious, patient, Mighty God and the God of all comfort. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15
Jesus did not want to loose the relationship with the Father even for one second. “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.” Mark 14:36 But Jesus submitted to the Father’s will, let us also submit to the Father’s will and walk in fellowship with the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life. John 6:40 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! Only the joy and peace that God gives is permanent, this worldly joy and peace are only temporary. God loves us and by His grace He gives us eternal encouragement and hope which encourages our hearts and strengthens us to abide in Him. Amen!
