At that time the Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them. You will be changed into a different person. 1 Samuel 10:6
In any race, finishing is important, if you take the marathon, setting a goal is very important. Some walk/run and finish the race, some run till the end and finish the race, some run in a good pace and finish, final category is the racer who runs the race to win and not just to finish. God’s Word says in 1 Corinthians 9:24, Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
In 1 Samuel 10:6, God was telling this to Saul through Samuel that Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon him and he will prophecy. Saul did prophecy according to God’s plan 1 Samuel 10:11 says, who knew Saul heard about it, they exclaimed, “What? Is even Saul a prophet? Also, we know that God chosen Saul as a king and there was no one in all Israel is like him! (Ref: 1 Samuel 10:24). Yes, its a good starting. But, soon he started disobeying God, he did repent but he did not repent whole heartedly it was rather superficial, later we can see that Saul seeks of the witch of endor and finally he died in disgrace, having taken his own life.
Today, God called us as His sons and daughters, the Spirit of the LORD was upon Saul, today the Holy Spirit is inside for those who ask God! This is such a great blessing, Jesus said I will never leave you nor forsake you! God blessed us with every spiritual blessing! Today, our Lord Jesus is our example for us to follow. As scripture says, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1,2
The fall of the first king of Israel (Saul) was because of disobedience to God, the King of Kings (Lord Jesus) obeyed His Father as scripture says, even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. Hebrews 5:8 He obeyed because He loved the Father, today if we really love Jesus then we will continue to obey Him and also by His grace we will win the race! So, its not important how many years you are living as a Christian, continue to remain in His love till the end then you will always obey Him wholeheartedly, by His grace you will finish the life with great victory! All Glory to God! Amen!
