New Covenant Blessings

Our God made covenant through Moses and that is old covenant that is based on law. The new covenant is grace and truth through our Lord Jesus Christ, today we are in this new covenant that was established through the blood of our Lord! The blood of Abel cried out for vengeance but today blood of Jesus speaks of forgiveness . The purpose of law was like a mirror that shows the current status of our face but never help in fixing the problem in our face.

It just shows how we look but never helps to correct it. Likewise, law tells us how sinful we are but never able to save us from sin. But, Jesus came to save us from sins, not just forgiveness alone but to save meaning to save us from the power of sin so that we no longer live as slaves to sin but overcome sin by God’s grace and sin shall not rule over us. But, we need to depend on Jesus and trust in Him for He is our deliverer and He is the one who is keeping us away from falling.

New covenant teaches repentance, meaning turning away from the past sinful life and turning to Jesus to lay our life centered in Christ Jesus our Lord! In the past the sins were covered by the blood of the goats and other animals as they are offered as a sacrifice to God. But today our sins are not covered/hidden but they are all cleansed by the blood of our Lord! Jesus said only sick needs the doctor not the healthy one, all are sick because of sin and Jesus is our deliverer who can set us free from the power of sin and death and you abide in Him!

God loves the honest people, especially those who humble themselves and open their heart to Him! Adam and Eve were not honest when God asked them about they sin they committed, instead they were pointing finger at each other and we know that they were sent out of the garden. But, on the day when Jesus was crucified on the cross there was a thief who was honest and told that he deserve this and asked Jesus to remember him when He comes in His Kingdom, Jesus told that he will be with Him in the paradise.

In the old covenant the law demanded 10% under compulsion but today as a new covenant its about 100% giving ourselves to God, when we give ourselves to God then there should not be any talk about 10%. God loves the cheerful giver and He sees the attitude of our heart. Word of God says in 2 Corinthians 9:7, each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. I hardly heard this passage being preached, especially the first part this scripture says what you have decided in your heart and not under any compulsion.

Our Lord Jesus or His disciples never asked anyone for money but accepted it when someone offered them cheerfully, even Paul worked hard to meet his expenses so that he won’t be causing any burden for gentiles while he travelled and preached the Gospel. But, God met all their needs according to His riches in a wonderful way, because they trusted God for their need and not on any men. So, they never pleased men but pleased God! Let us follow the footsteps of our Lord Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith!

In the old covenant everything was external, the tabernacle had three parts – Outer Court, Holy Place and Most Holy Place. Temple is the place where God dwells. Today God is not dwelling in the temple made out of human hands but He is dwelling inside of us, because He brought us with a great price and His blood cleansed us and so He dwells inside of us and we have Spirit, Soul and Body similar to tabernacle. God gave us a new man and crucified our old man, today we have been given the Holy Spirit who is our comforter and He pours the love of God in our hearts and He empowers us to live an overcoming life! He produces all the fruits and gifts in our lives, let us always be filled with the Holy Sprit and keep ourselves in God’s love! May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all now and forever! Amen!
