Be Alert

God’s Word says in Ephesians 4:26,27, “Don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives foothold to the devil. Foothold means a place where a person’s foot can be lodged to support them securely, esp. while climbing. We have one enemy that is devil and when we continue to live in sin then we are allowing the enemy to place his foot on us to climb over us little by little. Let us be alert and keep ourselves in God’s love. The greatest weapon of enemy is deception, but when we know the truth the truth will set us free.

Never fight or quarrel with human being for our battle is not with them as scripture says in Ephesians 6:12, we are fighting against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against might powers in this dark world, against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Our battle is not again flesh and blood, meaning not against human beings. But, most people fight against human beings and they don’t realize that they are flighting against wrong target. God’s Word says in 1 Peter 5:8, devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. The enemy is looking for someone who can be easily deceived, God’s Word encourages us not to be deceived. Let us continue to grow mature and eat solid Spiritual food as scripture says in Hebrews 5:14, solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Thank God for His promises, Romans 16:20 says, The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. Today, Jesus is in us and that is the hope of glory, our Lord Jesus is greater than the enemy who is in this world. Enemy don’t have any power over us as we belong to Christ, but enemy always tries to search if anything that belong to this world is in us so that he can enter through that opening. If we truly love our Lord Jesus then we will truly follow Him, if we truly follow him then we cannot let world in us. We are in this world but we are not of this world, we belong to God! Jesus said in John 14:30, the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me. Another translation says, he has no power over me, because the enemy could not find anything that belongs to him in Jesus. Because, Jesus was constantly filled with Holy Spirit and He obeyed His Father to do His will. Today, Jesus is our example to follow!

Just few months back, outside our home there was a wall and little birds built their nest on water sprinkler at the top of the wall and when we open the door we could see that the whole place was dirty because of these birds and its nest. Our apartment management decided to insert some metal sticks around the water sprinkler so that the birds will not continue to build their nest and move away from our home, it did worked and the birds could not build its nest. Likewise, enemy in this world tries to build his nest in our heart through lust and thoughts, we should not let enemy to build his kingdom in us, we belong to the Kingdom of God and Lord Jesus is our King!

Our Lord Jesus bought us with great price by shedding His blood on the cross, we belong to Him! He loves us so much and He is with us! God’s word teaches us to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Our Lord Jesus gave us freedom from the power of sin, because we are under grace and sin shall not rule over us. Thank God for He defeated the enemy on the cross and today we have victory through Christ, we are more than conquerors through Christ who strngthens us and His grace is sufficient for us. Grace and Truth came through our Lord Jesus Christ! Grace delivered us from sin, Truth sets us free! Let us remain in Him! Amen!
