Be Still

I still remember when I was a teenager I and my dad setup and fine tuned the TV antenna for our home. In those days, the antenna has to be positioned in a specific direction to receive signals. Once it starts receiving the signals from the broadcasting network, we can view the program from the specific station and then the antenna’s position should not be changed.

The signals are always being transmitted from the station but its the antenna that needs some fine tuning to receive the signal. Likewise, our Lord constantly speaks to us and guides us. It’s never the Lord who is not speaking, but it’s us who are not hearing. At any tough circumstances this world brings against us, the solution is to hear God’s voice to do accordingly and the situation will turn around for our good, its always true in everyone’s life for our God is faithful!

When Jesus went to Lazarus, Mary and Martha’s home, Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made for Jesus and His disciples but Mary was listening to Jesus, she made a choice to listen instead of getting busy or being distracted at that time. Because, listening to Jesus was more important for Mary. Though we can easily get busy as we are living in a busy world, we need to make a choice and prioritize to be still and listen to our Lord like Mary did.

God’s Word says, “Be still and know that I am God”. Let us fix our spiritual ears towards our Lord as like how the antenna is fine tuned and fixed to receive TV signals. Also, God speaks by giving us thoughts and desire to do His will as we say often that “God is leading me to do this thing”. Its such a blessing for us to speak to our Lord and also to listen from Him. We are His sheep and He is our good Shepherd, we always hear His voice. Let us continue to abide in Him! Let God be glorified and let His will be done in our life! God bless you! Amen!
